The more inclusive we are, the better our work will be.POSITION TITLE: Manufacturing Assistant REPORTS TO: Converting SupervisorSUMMARY As Production Utility , you will be apart of a team that takes the process of creating a corrugated product from beginning to end. Being apart of a team that serves not only local customers but national customer in either the Food Grade Industry , Medical Grade Industry , or Retail Industry is a great way to help Hood Container grow. We all need boxes , so why not be apart of of the process bringing products to peoples doorsteps around the world. Here you will see how boxes are truly made , from a single sheet of paper to what the customer receives with products ready to be packaged. Schedule :2nd Shift -Monday - Friday : 2PM - 10PM Weekends: As Needed & 3rd Shift - Monday - Friday : 10PM - 6AM Weekends: As Needed DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESRead and follow instructions as provided by the supervisor.Work together with crew/team as a helper.Keep work area clean and organized.Maximize piece-rate speed on tasks assigned.Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 poundsCross-train for other job positions as necessary.Complete necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner, including but not limited to: Production Data, Safety Data, Quality Data.Turn in equipment work orders to supervision for needed repairs. Be proactive in the maintenance of equipment.Switch duties with First Helper as necessary.Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.Adheres to production schedule. Makes recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality, and service goals. Additional duties may be assigned by management.Ability to read a tape measureEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEPREFERRED: Prior work experience in the corrugated industry.Prior work experience in a manufacturing operation.Prior work around heavy machinery PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, lift, push, pull, squat, and swivel. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to hot and/or humid as well as cold conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, vibrations, louder than normal environments, and high paced atmosphere.
