Job Description Job Description Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1 years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A districtwide itinerant teacher position is available for a licensed Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to serve students across multiple grade levels, from kindergarten through 12th grade. This role involves providing specialized support to visually impaired students throughout the district, requiring strong expertise and a dedicated approach to adaptive educational methods. Responsibilities: Deliver direct instructional services to visually impaired students in grades K-12 Collaborate with classroom teachers, families, and related service providers to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) Utilize adaptive technology and materials to facilitate student access to the curriculum Conduct assessments and monitor students progress, adjusting strategies as needed Provide professional training and resources to staff regarding visual impairment accommodations and best practices Travel within the district to support students at various school sites during the workweek Qualifications: Valid Texas Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) educator licensure is required Experience working with visually impaired students in academic settings spanning kindergarten to high school Strong knowledge of curriculum adaptations, assistive technologies, and compensatory skills for visually impaired learners Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with teachers, parents, and professionals Ability to manage a flexible itinerant schedule and provide onsite support at district schools Location: Onsite position serving schools within a district located in Sugar Land, TX Benefits: Full-time, 32.5 hours per week schedule Opportunity to impact students educational success across multiple grade levels Collaborative work environment with dedicated education professionals Qualified candidates with TX TVI licensure are encouraged to apply for this important role supporting visually impaired learners across the district.
