Drives V2 - Drives dedicated presales/business developer
This is a field-based position accountable for all aspects in the
promotion and sales support for the Variable Frequency Drive & Soft
Starter Businesses within an assigned coverage area. As a sales
support leader, you will not only need to constantly practice,
improve and refresh but also focus on building and motivating sales
teams, managing sales performance, and mastering our key processes
and tools.
This role will work closely with the local Area Drives Manager and
the Drive's Business Senior Director on creating/reviewing sales
opportunities, new product introductions, providing onsite and
customer training, and being the first point of contact for all
technical queries retaliative to Variable Speed Drive System
Business both low voltage and medium voltage and Solid State
Reduced Voltage Starters.
Primary Role & Responsibilities but not limited to:
- Developing, implementing and supporting a consultative solution
selling approach through the primary Sales resources within an
assigned geography
- Work as a Business Development Manager, advising and
cooperating with Lead Sales Groups and be recognized by sales as a
regional champion for drive business.
- Develop and support selected Industrial Automation focused
Channel Partners and Sales Teams
- Works closely with the Country Offer manager to manage all
aspects of product lifecycle from strategic planning to tactical
activities including product prioritization for launch, support and
obsolescence
- Presentations at customers, distributors and trade shows and
other company events
- Delivers product UVPs and/or solution demonstrations to
customers, channel partners and internal sales resources
- Build Sales Opportunity Pipeline
- Works closely with consulting engineers, system designers and
technicians to develop recommendations and solutions for addressing
customer needs.
- Provide commercial pre-sales support and coordination of the
Drive Solutions for the following:
- Advanced application support
- Advanced product training and customer awareness sessions
- Large OEM & Project proposal development and key review
activities
- Coordinate/support of international/big projects
- Business development activities with Sales resources and
Distributors, including setting target goals and objectives,
developing sales/business plans, funnel reviews, establishing call
plans and strategies
- Provide End User/Project business specific:
- Focusing on prescription activities working with design
institutes/specifiers/consultants with a target to influence
specification and vendor list
- Working with strategic and targeted accounts (End User) and
targeted partners (SI/PB/EPC/ Process OEM)
- Strong cooperation with Quotations team
- Challenged to create and grow the End User pipeline and hit
rate
- Transactional business specific:
- Supporting all other Sales partners...OEM, Channel and
Dedicated Builders etc.
- Must have good level of Drives business and product
knowledge
- Focusing to develop Drive business on platformed targeted
accounts (direct or indirect)
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years' experience of technical sales in the
industrial automation space with a keen understanding of field
concepts, practices and procedures
- Minimum of 5 years' experience applying Motor Control, VFDs and
Soft Starters is highly preferred
- Education: Minimum B.S. in technical field (electrical,
mechanical) or equivalent
- Independent self-starter and effective communicator who is
passionate about his/her position and committed to fostering a team
approach to achieve successful results.
- Strong time management, organizational and Digital skills with
the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Must have clear articulation with customer-distributor-sales
communication focus
- Must have professional-level presentation skills: Ability to
effectively address small and large groups of professionals to
convey highly technical application concepts and product UVPs among
electro-mechanical disciplines.
