This position is crucial in our operating rooms, providing expert care during complex cardiothoracic surgeries. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in surgical technology, specialized knowledge in cardiovascular operations, and a commitment to clinical excellence and patient care. Assist in surgical operations under the supervision of surgeons, registered nurses, or other surgical personnel. Ensure the operating room environment is safe, equipment functions properly, and operative procedures are conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety. Prepare, organize, and maintain sterile field during surgical procedures. Anticipate the needs of the surgeon by passing instruments and supplies, performing counts of sponges, needles, and instruments, and assisting in specimen handling. Strict compliance with aseptic technique, handling of specimens, and disposal of sharps or other materials. Proficient in setting up and managing a sterile field Extensive knowledge of surgical instruments and supplies Ability to anticipate the needs of surgeons during operations Strong communication and teamwork skills Skilled in adhering to safety guidelines and protocols Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
