Position Summary

Join our dynamic team as a Project Engineer and become a vital contributor to support NASA as an Oceaneering Teammate on the JSC Engineering, Technology, and Science (JETS) II contract. As an integral part of our organization, you'll play a crucial role to provide project engineering and testing functions for the Cold Stowage team by supporting flight hardware products through research and development, design, procurement, fabrication, test, data analysis, certification, flight/mission delivery, sustaining, and resupply phases/activities.

Someone in this role would typically have a Bachelor's degree in engineering.

**International travel may be required. Straight time overtime, 9/80 work schedule (every other Friday off), and/or 1 day of telework per week may be available**
**The person in this role will be required to work outside a normal schedule (including nights and weekends), be on-call, and adjust schedule to meet peak periods as needed.

Duties & Responsibilities

Some of your major responsibilities will include:

  • Traveling to launch and landing locations, managing the equipment, and supporting the science payloads.
  • Performing project engineering and testing functions for the Cold Stowage team by supporting flight hardware products through research and development, design, procurement, fabrication, test, data analysis, certification, flight/mission delivery, sustaining, and resupply phases/activities.
  • Coordinating with matrix organizations in support of the above activities.
  • Performing troubleshooting failure analysis and resolution.
  • Maintaining the Cold Stowage laboratory facilities and inventory.
  • Generating essential paperwork and documents, such as Task Performance Sheets (TPS), Discrepancy Reports (DR), and Crew Procedures.
  • Working in a team environment, and report to a team lead or project manager for technical support and task assignment.
  • Performing other duties as required.

    Qualifications

    REQUIRED
    • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a closely related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
      PREFERRED
      • Experience with on-orbit console operations for payloads
      • Experience troubleshooting electrical systems.
      • Experience in programing with C++.
      • Prior experience as a Project Engineer at NASA/JSC or other aerospace environment
